The Founder of Qi Cultivation, Reincarnates?

Chapter 357 354- Li Shen’s Last Orders

In the Inner Celestial Academy, Fang Chen was in a chamber that was sealed off from the outside world completely. He suddenly opened his eyes, and let out a sigh as a familiar dark miasma swirling around him calmed down.

Fang Chen\'s emotions were restless and he couldn’t cultivate properly. His mind would always wander back to half a year ago.

“What are you doing?”

Mo Rong ignored Fang Chen’s questions as he stood up. However, Mo Fong\'s body suddenly began to shrink and he stopped at the size of around eight meters tall.

Mo Rong then looked down at Fang Chen who was looking at him and said.

“I’ve decided, you’ll be my successor.”

“W-What?”

Fang Chen asked as he instinctively took a step back.

Seeing his actions, Mo Rong glared at him and said.

“What, you don’t want to?”

“No, I don’t want to become your successor. You hurt my friends when you were trying to kill us, and most of all I don’t want to be influenced by your vile nature. I don\'t want to become like you.”

Fang Chen took several steps back as he said that.

Mo Rong in response to his words raised his head a let out a howl of laughter.

He then looked at Fang Chen and said completely amused.

“You don\'t want to become like me? Brat, I’ve never heard or seen a human so in tune with the Slaughter Dao. It’s as if you were born to become slaughter itself. I’m even suspecting the heavens made a mistake and allowed you to be born as a human instead of a Qiong Qi Divine Beast.”

As Mo Rong spoke, he saw the strong unwillingness in Fang Chen’s eyes and he sighed.

The air of the lofty and proud Prince of the Qiong Qi race around Mo Rong suddenly vanished, before his body of a tiger mimic that of a human as he bowed towards Fang Chen.

“Please, become my successor.”

Seeing Mo Rong’s sudden shift in attitude Fang Chen was startled.

“W-What are you doing, get up, I said I won’t become your successor.”

Despite Fang Chen’s words, Mo Rong remained as he was and said.

“I am weak, I wasn’t able to return to my home to protect my race. I don\'t even know what happened to them because my memories are incomplete. However, I feel as if I was about to warn them of an incoming danger. Perhaps I was attacked on my way there, and as I died, the desire to go home died along with me. Please, become my successor and save my race. I am sorry about attacking you and injuring your friends but I just wanted to go home.”

Fang Chen stood there, not knowing how to react. He could feel deep emotions in Mo Rong’s words and given his actions of bowing, he was truly sincere.

For Mo Rong to do this he must be desperate and see no other way. He would even be willing to choose a human to be his successor.

“Why me? How do you even know I will even be able to reach your home wherever it is, much less be strong enough to save your Race? You’re putting too much faith in me to accomplish such a task.”

Mo Rong raised his head and looked at Fang Chen deeply as he said with conviction.

“You’ll be able to do it. If you’re with that Godling then you’ll surely be able to do it. You’ll soon be able to leave this planet and reach the Celestial Realm. With you’re potential, my Qiong Qi bloodline might not even be able to faze you, but as you are now it will be of great help.”

Fang Chen wanted to say something but, Mo Rong interjected.

“As long as a talented Godling does not die they would become a supreme existence, and all those who were destined to follow him will follow suit. I can see it, even before you have met him your fate and the rest had been tied with him the moment you were born. In your memories, when your Master sacrificed himself was when you first awakened the Will of Slaughter. It is the embryonic form of the Sin of Wrath. You-”

“Wait-wait, stop-stop-stop!”

Fang Chen suddenly stopped Mo Rong from continuing and he held his head.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about and why you\'re referring to Faction Leader as a Godling., Just answer me this, what would I get from becoming your successor? And why would I help you by saving your Race even if I could?”

“You’re going to die, you’re soul is already beyond the point of saving. But if you become my successor, I’ll give you the bit of soul power my soul has remaining to save you.”

Fang Chen\'s face became gloomy upon hearing that, but Mo Rong only continued.

“As for why you would help me, that’s because the only thing as strong as your Will to slaughter is your sense of justice and gratitude.”

Fang Chen immediately glared at Mo Rong.

“So you intend to save my life and in exchange, I will be forced to be indebted to you?”

“Yes.”

Mo Rong didn’t deny his intentions.

Thoughts raced across Fang Chen’s mind, and he wondered if Mo Rong was lying to him. However, he had no sense of the outside world. The only thing he had was this bit of consciousness.

His soul could probably dissipate at any minute and he would die without knowing.

Mo Rong didn’t say anything as Fang Chen remained silent.

Soon, Fang Chen let out a sigh, before looking at Mo Rong and saying.

“I can help you, but as long as it doesn’t go against my conscience.”

Mo Rong’s nature was vile and treacherous so the Qiong Qi race was as such. Would such a race be free from wrong? Fang Chen wouldn’t forcefully save a Race like that if they were beyond saving.

Mo Rong wasn’t worried as he said.

“Didn’t I say I choose you because of your sense of justice? Our Qiong Qi race is known to cause Chaos in the Celestial Realm, but that is only because we’ve been unchecked as even the God Clans are unable to afford to go into an all-out war with us. As long as you have the strength you’ll be able to suppress that part of our Race, and revive our old ways.”

“What’s that?”

Fang Chen asked.

To his question, Mo Rong responded.

“We were once the messengers of the Heavens in charge of punishing the Gods. We were called the Punishers of the Gods. But such a title has been distorted after the Heavens discarded us from our duty.”

Fang Chen thought for a moment, then said.

“Fine, I agree.”

As soon as Fang Chen said that, a black Karma String appeared between them and joined back together.

Mo Rong’s eyes suddenly flickered and he pounced on Fang Chen. Just when Fang Chen thought he was a fool to believe Mo Rong, what happened next made him realize he misunderstood the situation.

As Mo Rong pounced on him, his tiger body suddenly dissipated in a black miasma that entered Fang Chen’s forehead.

The small vertical line that was on Fang Chen\'s forehead gained two more lines. They were horizontal semi-circles that went across each other.

Fang Chen didn’t have time to react and his consciousness went black.

However, just before that, he could hear Mo Rong’s final words to him.

“My legacy to you is somewhat incomplete due to my soul being injured. And be warned, even though a Godling\'s followers would rise when he rises, when catastrophic misfortunes come because of his existence, those followers will face the same amount of danger. This Heavenly Calamity is just a small example. I have a feeling he survived that Calamity somehow, but in the future, if you want to stand by his side, you’ll need strength and as much of it as you can manage to gain.”

As Fang Chen was recalling these memories, he was suddenly snapped out of his thoughts by his communication jade slip that received a message.

Fang Chen read the message from Fei Yin that said it was time to head for the Star Bound Continent. After putting the communication jade slip back in his storage ring, he got up and exited his sealed-off chamber.

On the other side of the courtyard, Jun was seen in meditation.

As he cultivated, a white aura swirled around him that gave off the feeling of being unblemished by any vile or corruptness. And strangely, a sense of extreme pride was radiating from it as well. A product that could only be contributed to the Kun Peng,.. or perhaps something else.

Before long, Jun’s meditation was interrupted as he too got the message from Fei Yin. He ended his seclusion and walked out of his seal chamber.

All the group members were gathering this time to journey towards the Star Bound Continent.

Their first goal was to participate in the Chosen Tournament, and the second but most important was to find their Faction Leader.

There was little doubt they would be able to enter the top one hundred, but as for their second goal, if they really failed then they would just try again on the other Continents.

But they did have a hidden third goal by participating in the Chosen Tournament, though so far they had been keeping it a secret, only having told Li Shu about it.

Lihua said, that this was on Li Shen’s last orders.
